The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy (ZID) conducted the Executive Certificate in Diplomacy, Etiquette, Grooming, Protocol and Professional Branding Day Classes from 5 to 9 October 2026 at its Main Campus in Emerald Hill, Harare. The five-day executive programme offered participants more than practical knowledge and professional skills; it was a transformative learning experience that strengthened confidence, broadened perspectives and fostered meaningful connections and lasting friendships.
The programme was facilitated by Ambassador V. A. Chikanda, ZID Chairperson and Principal Lecturer, alongside guest presenter Miss Tafadzwa Shame. Through interactive discussions, practical exercises and the sharing of real-world experiences, participants explored how to navigate professional and official engagements with confidence, tact and competence. Ambassador Chikanda challenged participants to pursue excellence, lead with integrity and uphold high standards of professionalism in their workplaces and everyday interactions.
The Executive programme covered Diplomacy and Statecraft; State, Diplomatic, Corporate and Social Protocol; Professional Grooming and Business Etiquette; Leadership and Effective Communication; International Relations and Law; Diplomatic Practice and Effective Negotiation Skills; Dealing with Difficult People and Stress Management Techniques to mention a few.
Participants expressed appreciation for the knowledge and practical insights gained. Many highlighted the programme’s impact on their self-confidence, communication skills and professional presence, noting that the lessons could be applied immediately in both their careers and personal lives. Beyond the classroom, the friendships formed and connections established added another valuable dimension to the learning experience. Participants described the course as a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking to strengthen their leadership, communication, etiquette and professional image.
